Wood decking can become slippery with natures addition of algae & lichen.
Other companies use pressure washing which may 'clean' the surface, but can also damage it, leaving swirl marks. Our method involves low pressure cleaning with the addition of a soft wash biocide which slows down microorganisms reappearing.

WHY CLEAN MY ROOF?

Moss is capable of holding up to 20 times its own weight in water. A veritable sponge!
If the moss freezes in winter this could cause tiles to expand and break.
Black, white and yellow lichen also find roof tiles an appetising place to settle. Unfortunately their roots, although small, can penetrate through the surface of tiles and cause damage potentially resulting in expensive roof repairs.

Laser Clean Devon was set up in order to take a more environmentally friendly and, it has to be said, better quality approach to our specialist cleaning service.
Our equipment has been specifically chosen for being the most effective at cleaning, whilst using less water, less power, less chemicals and causing no damage to surfaces.

Our Machine choices

Doff III steam cleaning system uses very little water and power, but offers amazing results compared to high pressure washing systems, and is approved by English Heritage.
IBIX Helix, this dry and wet micro-air abrasion system offers a gentle but effective alternative to sandblasting. IBIX was developed in particular for the restoration field and is used on heritage projects throughout Europe.
Pulsed Wave cleaning lasers are also utilised on restoration projects and was invaluable for reviving smoke damaged items in Notre Dame.
Softwashing is a highly effective way of cleaning and removing biofilm & pollutants with a final rinse down from our DOFF system.

Environmentally friendly

On the rare occasion chemicals need to be used, in order to ensure algae, moss, lichen and other biofilms are killed off, we research the most environmentally friendly materials we can in order to minimise damage to plant, animal and aquatic life.
Power & Water. From the beginning of our experience with machines like the Doff, we questioned why more firms choose to use high pressure systems over this. The simple reason is cost. We feel the larger capital outlay not only produces a far better finish to a project, but uses far less water and power than the mainstream alternatives.

Instant results

Our Softwash, Doff, Laser & IBIX cleaning systems show improvements to your surfaces pretty much instantaneously.
In the case of Softwash to render, you will notice a dramatic improvement the same day, but the results will improve over a course of weeks, as algae and biofilms continue to be killed off.
Our roof cleaning service also demonstrates an immediate and dramatic improvement, some remaining 'white' or 'black spot' lichen may remain on the surface, but they continue to die off and are removed by the weather over the coming weeks or months.

Health & Safety

We take Health & Safety very seriously. Simply.
All our projects employ Health & Safety measures to ensure ourselves, our clients, the areas being cleaned, and the environment are dealt with sensibly.
Lasers of course emit a highly potent beam that can damage eyes in the same way staring at the sun or a welder in operation can do. We utilise shields to keep sensitive (and curious) eyes from our works.
Working at heights. We use our own high quality scaffold towers and ladders when required, all are regularly checked and replaced in the case of damage or wear and tear.
Chemicals: when it is necessary to use chemicals, we choose those not only with a proven track record of success, but with the least detrimental effects to the environment.

WHY USE US?

Other companies offer the cleaning services we offer, why are we different?
We don't use high pressure systems!
Most machines use up to 30 litres of water per minute and potentially damage the surface being cleaned, be that your block paving or worse, your roof!
Our English Heritage approved Doff machine uses between 3-5 litres of water per minute, and given it's low pressure and steam, doesn't damage your surfaces, is extremely effective, and negates the need for so many chemicals

I HAVE A PRESSURE WASHER

Do you own a pressure washer? Some may feel that pressure washing is a job that can be done yourself. And within reason, to a certain level, they can be just fine.
However, our machines are not pressure washers, our equipment & processes are on a slightly different level, allowing Laser Clean Devon to provide a level of clean that cannot be achieved with domestic pressure washers.
